Я конечно понимаю, что opera не вписывается в alt, но всё-же люди ей ползуются
Поэтому мне кажется, что следует добавить поддержку opera
Лично я использую так (/etc/urlview/url_handlers):
https_prgs=(
    "/usr/bin/opera -newpage":PW

ftp_prgs=(
    "/usr/bin/opera -newpage":PW

Ну и для почты добавить....

Workaround: пользователь может дописать что-то в  ~/.etc/urlview/url_handlers (0.9-ipl4mdk).
