$ rpm -q scilab
scilab-5.1.1-alt2

При открытии содержания или вызове команды help help открывается пустое окно "Help Browser"

В консоль выводится:
Could not load file: /usr/share/scilab/modules/helptools/jar/scilab_en_US_help.jar. Please check its contents, must be a Java Help file.
Scilab help files not loaded. Please check if /usr/share/scilab//modules/helptools/jar/scilab_*_help.jar files exist and are Java Help files.

Прошу прощения, но 
$ ssh git.alt acl sisyphus scilab show
scilab	nbr @everybody

т.е. вы лидер данного пакета.
