Anton, was it really transition from syslinux to grub and not transition from grub-2.04 to grub-2.06?

so the problem is that syslinux was removed from the starter, ie with grub it does not work ???

How did you record the image on a USB flash drive? Try altmediawriter or dd.
Do not load the USB flash drive in the mode of saving the session on other devices. I've read about similar issues in Ubuntu on older hp devices. These devices require a boot flag in the MBR.
But, perhaps, this is a problem of even more ancient hp devices.

Try also the old regular-xfce with grub 2.04:

Try also starterkit xfce with grub 2.02:

all linux ISOs register them with dd command and they work ... dd if=/path/to/image.iso of=/dev/sdX bs=1M oflag=direct status=progress; sync

Try it like that:

# LC_ALL=C fdisk -w never /dev/sdX

Welcome to fdisk (util-linux 2.37.3).
Changes will remain in memory only, until you decide to write them.
Be careful before using the write command.

GPT PMBR size mismatch (237463 != 62411242) will be corrected by write.
The backup GPT table is not on the end of the device. This problem will be corrected by write.
The device contains 'iso9660' signature and it may remain on the device. It is recommended to wipe the device with wipefs(8) or fdisk --wipe, in order to avoid possible collisions.

Command (m for help): M

Entering protective/hybrid MBR disklabel.

Command (m for help): d
Partition number (1,2, default 2): 2

Partition 2 has been deleted.

Command (m for help): a
Selected partition 1
The bootable flag on partition 1 is enabled now.

Command (m for help): w
The partition table has been altered.

Command (m for help): r
Leaving nested disklabel.

Command (m for help): w
The partition table has been altered.
Calling ioctl() to re-read partition table.
Syncing disks.

Try it like that without '-w never':

# fdisk /dev/sdX

I will tell you step by step the procedure I follow, in case I make a mistake somewhere ...and I'm not doing right what you're saying to me .

1) step install the distribution regular-xfce-latest-x86_64.iso on my stick through the command dd if=/home/hp/"Επιφάνεια εργασίας"/regular-xfce-latest-x86_64.iso of=/dev/sdb bs=1M oflag=direct status=progress; sync

2) I execute the following commands
______________________
# LC_ALL=C fdisk -w never /dev/sdX  <=> in my case is sdb

Syncing disks.

and now i change this command LC_ALL=C fdisk -w never /dev/sdX
to LC_ALL=C fdisk /dev/sdb
and other same
the resault is same
not work
resaults of fdisk -l from usb is
Disk /dev/sdb: 29,49 GiB, 31666995200 bytes, 61849600 sectors
Disk model: Flash Disk

Disklabel type: gpt
Disk identifier: E4693091-93BB-4DF9-81E8-F70826012578
